I am proud to present WriteUp 3.2 inspired by the awesome video concept by David Cooper. After trying out tons of implementations, I am convinced WriteUp provides the best implementation of the concept ever seen. 2 finger swipe to move cursor, 3 finger swipe to select text. In my testing and of beta testers, this method of text editing seems totally natural and makes it super easy. Let me know what you think on @WriteUpApp

New gorgeous fonts

I am also adding 3 new gorgeous fonts to WriteUp specifically hand-picked for long form writing. Cousine, M+ 1c and M+ 1m are great additions, and I think you will love them.

Research view bookmarks and history

The built-in browser in WriteUp is getting a major boost with bookmarks (synced between your devices via iCloud), and history suggestions as you type.

A word of warning for iOS 6 Beta 3 users

Beta 3 introduced a lot of API changes which causes WriteUp to be very unstable on this release. It was released very late in the development cycle. I am working on an update, but please skip this version of WriteUp if you are running this version.

Introducing WriteUp 3.0

I am absolutely thrilled to present the latest version of WriteUp, that I have been working on for a couple of months now. WriteUp has one of the most best feature sets of any iOS text editors, and does all it does in great style. WriteUp 3.0 is the most ambitious update to date. Here are some of the features,

Brand New Icon

Gorgeous new icon designed by the awesome Aaron Mahnke.

Favorites and Pin to Top

Ability to favourite or pin to top items. Favorite items appear at the top of any folder you are in, no matter where you are. Items pinned to top appears at the top of their respective folder alone. Great way to bookmark items.

Both favourites and pin to top items are synced to your other devices through iCloud.

Built-in web browser with split-view mode

WriteUp 3 features a web browser right in the app, along with split-view browsing mode to make note-taking a breeze.

Links and quotes can be inserted into notes from the browser, and web pages sent to Instapaper or Pocket.

Great sharing options

WriteUp can now publish directly to Tumblr.

Notes can be sent to Omnifocus.

Notes can be sent as a message.

Terminology app support

Lookup or replace word or phrase from the great Terminology app

Upload images to Dropbox

Upload images to Dropbox, view them along with your notes, and most importantly insert them into your notes.

Search in note

Version 1.4 of WriteUp has just been approved by Apple, and with that, one of the most requested features requested by you users – Search in note. Now you can search any phrase or word, navigate between occurrences in the note. This would make using and organising long running notes so much easier. Along with this, there are a couple of nice additions – Markdown preview now in full screen, and if you have a theme selected, the preview also has this theme. As usual, all existing users of WriteUp get this update for free. Hope you like the update, and please leave me a note if you like it. I love hearing from you. Do leave a review on the AppStore. This is the best way to let new users know of the app.

WriteUp supports Solarized themes

It’s been a crazy month developing WriteUp. Second major update for the month, this one comes with a feature that is one of the main reasons I developed the app.

I use Solarized for all my writing, and it makes it so much easier on your eyes. The contrast between text and background color is just right, and I am proud to present the update to all existing users.

The update also has a lots of other improvements

- The app now remembers your location if the app is closed in the background

- Word and Character count

- When switching back and forth between WriteUp and other apps, sync works much better

- Added HelveticaNueue to font list

- Added smaller font sizes as options upon user request
